Benton is a city in and the county seat of Saline County, Arkansas, United States, and a suburb of Little Rock. It was established in 1837. Making it the 12th most populous city in Arkansas. Benton was named for Missouri Sen. Thomas Hart Benton. Saline County was known for its bustling bauxite (an aluminum ore) industry in the early 20th century. So began the history of Arkansas and later, our city of Benton, which first became a settlement in 1833.
