Professional Statement
Most of the people I see are not in crisis. They are functioning. Meeting deadlines, taking care of other people, making decisions all day. And underneath that, running on reserve in a way they have mostly stopped noticing.
What I work with is the habit of struggling — a pattern the nervous system learned so early that it stopped looking like a pattern and started looking like personality. Effort became the way you do things. Then it became who you are.
Breaking that habit tends to happen in three places at once.
The nervous system comes first, because a system that stays braced cannot be reasoned with. NeurOptimal® neurofeedback gives the brain information about its own activity and lets it settle on its own. There is nothing to concentrate on and nothing to do correctly, which is exactly the difficulty for people who are used to being good at things.
Then the operating system — the interpretations running underneath the day, mostly unexamined. MoreYou.app is where that gets looked at, a few minutes at a time.
And then other people. The pattern is easier to keep when everyone around you shares it. Some of what I offer exists simply to put people in a room together who are willing to see it differently.
I came to this through three doors. Twenty years in education, where I watched capable people burn out doing work they cared about. A decade in school leadership, where I made decisions under pressure and learned what it costs to stay composed while doing it. And a master's in mental health counseling, which gave me the language for what I was watching but not the tool for it. The Gulf War came before all of it and taught me the same lesson earlier: a person can perform well for a very long time while quietly running out of room.
Functioning and being well are not the same. Knowing the difference is usually the beginning of something.
MoreYou.app and my writing at plenavitashift.com are both free. If you are not ready to book, start there.
Less Struggle. More You.
