El Campo is a city in Wharton County, Texas, United States. The population was 12,350 at the 2020 Census, making it the largest city in Wharton County.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.5 square miles (19.3 km2), all of it land.
The population density was 1,400 people per square mile. There were 4,491 housing units at an average density of 577.5 per square mile (223.0/km2). Hispanic or Latino of any race were 47.0% of the population.
