Welcome. I'm a retired U.S. Army officer and former newspaper editor who embarked on my journey into Tai Chi while still in active service. Although my initial interest was piqued during my military days, my pursuit of Tai Chi was temporarily sidelined by time constraints and professional responsibilities, only to be reignited once I retired. With more than 2,000 hours of teaching experience, I hold the esteemed title of Certified Level 3 instructor accredited by the ATCQA. Furthermore, I am currently undergoing training as a Holden Qigong Teacher-In-Training and have the privilege of serving as a Master Trainer under the guidance of Grand Master Dennis Kelly at Defy Aging, Inc. As a veteran, my commitment to Tai Chi and Qigong deepened in 2020 when I initiated my certification process with the American Tai Chi and Qigong Association (ATCQA). During this journey, I collaborated with like-minded volunteer instructors at the James A. Haley VA Hospital. Woodbury Town, NY

 

Woodbury is a town in Orange County, New York, United States. The town population was 12,197 at the 2020 census. The village was incorporated in 2006 and comprises all of the town that is not part of the village of Harriman. The region was once called Woodbury Clove. It is part of the Poughkeepsie–Newburgh–Middletown, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area as well as the larger New York–Newark–Bridgeport, NY-NJ-CT-PA Combined Statistical Area. Woodbury is in the southeastern part of Orange County. The town also has four schools, which are part of the Monroe-Woodbury Central School District.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 37.2 square miles (96 km2), of which 36.2 square miles (94 km2) is land and 1.0 square mile (2.6 km2) (2.72%) is water.

The town is west of West Point, the United States Military Academy. Interstate 87, NY-17 (future Interstate 86), NY-32, and US Route 6 pass through the town.

The region was once called Woodbury Clove ("valley") and is not to be confused with Woodbury, Nassau County, Long Island, New York.

The town of Woodbury (which comprises the hamlets of Central Valley and Highland Mills) and the area formerly known as the hamlet of Woodbury Falls was officially created on December 19, 1889, by an act of the Orange County Board of Supervisors. The first town meeting was held on March 4 the following year, with John A. Patterson presiding as supervisor. The second supervisor was James Seaman. Even though the land is no longer used for farming, the Seaman family property can still be identified by a sign that reads “Sweet Clover Farm” along Route 32 at the northern end of town. This is now the home of Palaia Vineyards.
