I've worked with teens as a teacher in middle school, in high school, a high school librarian, and now as a life coach. The reason for my commitment to teens is simple - I really like them. I earned an MEd. in. Secondary English Education and am a Certified Life Coach for Young People through Youth Coaching Institute (YCI). I also write a monthly column on School Library Journal's Teen Librarian Toolbox blog called RevolTeens about teens who make a difference in the world. At home, I have raised three of my own teens, now 23, 19, and 17. I know that they have always needed an outside unbiased voice from teachers, therapists, or other trusted adult as well as their parents' guidance to feel successful and grounded. One of the reasons that coaching works for teens is that they get to talk to someone who is not their mom. An outside, caring, and compassionate adult who works with them where they are now - with no history or baggage. It is a great honor and privilege to be that adult in a teen's life. If your teen needs an outside voice to listen, connect, and guide them through solving problems, let's talk. I offer free consultations with parents (or young adults 18-24) to discuss what brings you to coaching and how coaching can help.
I've worked with teens as a teacher in middle school, in high school, a high school librarian, and now as a life coach. The reason for my commitment to teens is simple - I really like them, and teens need fans. My passion for coaching comes from knowing that teens have too many people giving them advice and telling them what to do, and what they really need is someone to listen fully and without judgment while they find their way to the solutions and changes they can make to pursue their passions and goals. I am honored to be that person for the teens and young adults I coach.

The village is officially known as the Incorporated Village of Lindenhurst.
The village was originally named "Breslau" because the town's original German settlers were from the city of Breslau in Silesia (present-day Wrocław, Poland.) The town was founded in 1873 and renamed Lindenhurst in 1891. On October 30, 2012, Hurricane Sandy flooded over half the village's streets. On the southern side of Montauk Highway, the water reached up to 6 feet (1.8 m) high.
When multiple fires broke out south of Montauk Highway, firefighters were able to contain these fires to their respective dwellings limiting further damage to neighboring houses. Firefighters from most of the Town of Babylon helped control the fires in Lindenhurst. Firefighters fought the blazes in water that was four feet high in higher spots and six feet in lower areas. The people who lived on the northern side of Lindenhurst had no power for over one week. Because of incidents of looting the vacated homes on the southern side of Lindenhurst, the police force had to impose limitations. Curfews were enforced, and only people with proof of residency were allowed south of Montauk Highway. After two days, the water receded.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 10.0 km2 (3.8 sq mi), of which 3.8 square miles (9.8 km2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) (1.57%) is water.
Population: 27,064 (2022). ZIP Code: 11757. Area code: 631. Elevation: 30 ft (9 m). Incorporated: 1923. Area: 3.81 sq mi (9.87 km2).
