Myrtle Grove is a census-designated place (CDP) in New Hanover County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 8,875 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wilmington, NC Metropolitan Statistical Area.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 7.3 square miles (19 km2), of which 6.9 square miles (17.8 km2) is land and 0.4 square miles (1.0 km2) (5.37%) is water.
As of the 2020 United States census, there were 11,476 people, 4,172 households, and 3,222 families residing in the CDP.
As of the census of 2000, there were 7,125 people, 2,839 households, and 2,222 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,037.4 inhabitants per square mile (400.5/km2). There were 3,021 housing units at an average density of 439.9 per square mile (169.8/km2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 94.54% White, 3.55% African American, 0.17% Native American, 0.86% Asian, 0.11% Pacific Islander, 0.14% from other races, and 0.63% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.93% of the population.
There were 2,839 households, out of which 32.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.2% were married couples living together, 7.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.7% were non-families. 16.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 4.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.51 and the average family size was 2.80.
