It is home to Missouri Baptist Medical Center, (locally known as MoBap). The city is included in the St. Louis, MO-IL Metropolitan Statistical Area, and is home to Bellerive Country Club, which hosted the 1965 U.S. Open, the 1992 PGA Championship, and the 2018 PGA Championship.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 11.68 square miles (30.25 km2), all land. Town and Country was incorporated in 1950 as a village and re-incorporated as a fourth-class city 25 years later.

There were 4,159 housing units at an average density of 362.0 per square mile (139.8/km2). The racial makeup was 77.04% (8,967) white, 2.65% (308) black or African-American, 0.08% (9) Native American or Alaska Native, 10.86% (1,264) Asian, 0.03% (3) Pacific Islander, 1.07% (124) from other races, and 8.29% (965) from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 1.2% (138) of the population.

What is the history of Town and Country, MO?

Back then Town and Country was known as Altheim, Missouri. Altheim was a farming town located along Clayton Road between what is now I-270 to the east and Woods Mill to the west. Just to the south along Mason Road was the one-room schoolhouse that served Altheim. To the north on Conway Road was the first post office in the area – housed in the Oge log cabin that has been reconstructed at Drace Park.
