I began my trek into natural health circa 2002 when I developed my first skincare formulas, eventually launching a product line and growing deeper roots in holistic, anti-aging medicine and the healing arts as a whole. As I discovered more of myself, I unlocked long-forgotten gifts and today works as an intuitive energy healer, which shapes my work as a functional medicine practitioner and clinical herbalist. I am passionate about embodying a standard of excellence for my health and pass that empowerment and knowledge along to others, while helping them correct energetic, hormone, and chronic imbalances.
If your story is anything like mine, you are on a journey to heal your body. A life free from constant chronic pain and fatigue is what so many are longing for. Maybe you’ve been to countless practitioners and received multiple diagnoses, but you still feel completely hopeless. You are not alone. I was there, too. This is my story, and I was able to heal myself.I was diagnosed with extreme adrenal fatigue, achlorhydria, Epstein–Barr virus, Leaky Gut, ovarian cysts, PCOS, Lymes disease, PTSD…oh, and I had a few parasites. All of this happened before my twenty-fourth birthday. Along with this diagnosis, I had severe depression, anxiety, constant bloating, eczema, weight gain, acne, and hormonal imbalances. It became so debilitating that steamed vegetables were the only thing my body was positively responding too. Burdened by the thousands of dollars I was spending on health care, I finally took matters into my own hands and began the journey to heal my body. And that I did.Over the course of my journey, I was able to heal. Yes, find complete freedom and excitement again in life. I now deeply feel that it is my calling to support and help other women heal. I felt completely alone in my journey, and I needed a coach and a support system to help guide me though it. That is now what I offer to you as a coach. I come alongside my clients that are hopeless, lost and frustrated that every other protocol, detox, and supplement didn’t work. I find joy in sharing my knowledge and experience with others, and my mission is for you to finally find freedom too!
Hi there! My name is Michelle Tonkin. I am a Naturopathic Doctor, Certified Nutritional Consultant, Master Herbalist, Master Iridologist and Master Reflexologist. I am a graduate of Trinity College of Natural Health and Acusage Academy. My journey to pursue these degrees started in 2001, as I desired to have answers to my own physical problems. In 1999 I began to experience many health problems such as Candidiasis, Chronic Fatigue, Epstein Barr, Fibromyalgia, Environmental Illness, Lyme Disease, Bacterial, Fungal, and Parasitical Infections. I was a total physical mess! I saw at least 30 different physicians, experienced numerous different medications and treatments, and my condition continued to deteriorate. Although kind and well meaning, the doctors had very few answers or hope for me. By God's grace, perseverance, prayer, and the faithfulness of my family and friends, the answers/solutions starting coming. My heart is to help others achieve and maintain abundant health!Blessings, Hope, Peace, Prosperity & Health be Yours ~ Michelle Tonkin ND
I hold a PhD in Philosophy, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, and yoga certification. I have traveled the world studying healing practices and shamanism. I have induced full chakra Kundalini awakenings and dried wet sheets in freezing temperatures with my bare body—I know of no one else who has done either without an outside teacher. I now gift the world a healing protocol and welcome guests for private retreats to heal with me at Eagle Vortex Healing Sanctuary.

Originally part of Paris Township, East Grand Rapids was first settled in the early 1830s by the Reed Family from New York City, New York. Miss Sophia Reed and Miss Euphemia Davis opened a school in 1834 near Reeds Lake. Another schoolhouse was constructed in 1835 near Reeds Lake in the Grand River Valley, with Francis Prescott as its teacher. Residents voted to establish the Village of East Grand Rapids in 1891. The village was incorporated into a home-rule city in 1926 when the population was approximately 1,300.
East Grand Rapids saw tourism from the Grand Rapids area for both its geography and facilities. Reeds Lake attracted visitors as early as the 1870s as a destination for day trips and summertime activities. It had two established beaches of the time - Rose’s Bathing Beach and Swimming School was established in 1901 and Manhattan Beach was established in 1884. They hosted boat launches, a bathhouse, restaurants, and resorts. Four steamboats owned by the Poisson family operated excursion rides on the lake starting in 1882.
Visitors to East Grand Rapids initially traveled by foot, stagecoach, or horse and buggy. In the mid-1870s, horse-drawn cars became available. Passengers would board in downtown Grand Rapids and transfer onto the Grand Rapids & Reeds Lake Railway. By 1877, a steam locomotive replaced the horse cars. Electric streetcars came into use in the early 1890s. They were replaced by buses as a mode of transportation in 1935. Interurban also brought residents from nearby cities to Reeds Lake.
The village's amusement park, Ramona Park, opened in 1897, a creation of the Grand Rapids Street Railway Company to increase the use of their services. The park included amusement rides, games, concession stands, and two large pavilions where activities from theater to roller skating were hosted. Ramona Park closed in 1955 due to disrepair and dwindling demand. The land was eventually repurposed for apartments and a shopping center.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.39 square miles (8.78 km2), of which 2.93 square miles (7.59 km2) is land and 0.46 square miles (1.19 km2) (13.57%) is water. Reeds Lake and Fisk Lake comprise most of the water area.
