FAQs

Q: What kinds of trust problems do you work with?
A: This service is for couples dealing with betrayal, secrecy, broken agreements, jealousy, emotional distance, resentment, or other experiences that have damaged trust.

Q: Do we have to decide whether we’re staying together before starting therapy?
A: No. Some couples begin therapy knowing they want to repair the relationship. Others are unsure. The work can help you understand what happened, what each of you needs, and what moving forward might realistically look like.

Q: Can therapy help after an affair or major betrayal?
A: It can. Repair usually takes time, honesty, consistency, and a willingness from both partners to look closely at what happened and what needs to change.

Q: Will you take sides?
A: No. My role is to help both partners understand the patterns, injuries, and needs affecting the relationship while keeping the work focused on safety, honesty, and constructive change.

Q: What if one of us is more ready to repair the relationship than the other?
A: That’s common. We can work with the differences in readiness and help each partner speak openly about what they need before making major decisions.

Q: What happens in the first session?
A: We’ll talk about the concerns bringing you in, how trust or connection was affected, what each of you hopes will change, and what would help the relationship feel safer and more stable.

Q: Do we have to discuss every detail of the betrayal?
A: No. The goal is not to force either partner into unnecessary detail. We focus on the information needed to understand the injury, reduce uncertainty, and support meaningful repair.

Q: How long are sessions?
A: Standard couples sessions are 50 minutes unless another session length has been arranged.
