Human Design, an in-depth introspective tool first created in the 1980s, offers a refined perspective for self-discovery. Many consider it a user manual for life, helping you navigate the internal and external challenges of each day while staying aligned with your true nature.

With this powerful self-understanding, people can actualize their potential, make thoughtful decisions, improve relationships, and stop feeling overwhelmed.

To get your free Human Design chart, simply enter your birth date, time, and location online at the Jovian Archive.

What is Human Design?

Much like astrological birth charts, Human Design is a system based on your exact time, date, and place of birth. It also incorporates your dominant chakras to create your personalized bodygraph.

Together, these elements create a synthesis of esoteric and exoteric systems, offering a graphical depiction of the forces that imprint us and influence how we experience the world. It shows how we naturally engage with and respond to life.

All that’s needed is your birthday, time of birth, and location of birth. From there, experts can provide meaningful insight into your design. It all starts with what is known as a bodygraph, which can help you understand how you are designed to interact with the world and where you may be susceptible to environmental influence and conditioning.

What is a Bodygraph?

A bodygraph is an important part of the Human Design chart. It is a graphic illustration that explains your energetic flow and shows how you naturally operate and interact. It is situated within a Rave Mandala, which includes the I Ching, Western Zodiac, Sephirot of the Kabbalah, hexagrams, and the chakra system.

The bodygraph shows a person’s definitions, which are the colored areas of the chart, as well as their openness, which refers to anything left white. Definitions remain consistent throughout life and explain key aspects of who someone is as a person. Openness reveals areas where someone may be susceptible to conditioning. When this conditioning occurs, it can result in a state known as the “Not-Self.”

What is a Human Design Chart?

A human design chart is more than just the bodygraph. On the right side of the bodygraph, there is a collection of numbers in black next to the planetary symbols. These calculations outline different characteristics of the personality. People are consciously aware of these traits, which often leads them to believe this is who they are.

The red column of the design chart is calculated using an 88-degree rotation of the sun, spanning approximately 89 days before the moment of birth. These numbers outline the characteristics of body consciousness and the nature of the unconscious.

By learning about the previously unrealized elements of your identityit becomes possible to make decisions and take actions that are more aligned with your true nature.

What is the Intent?

Human Design is a tool for living authentically. By learning more about the true self, it becomes possible to decondition, or let go of, the parts of your personality that are inconsistent with your true nature.

With this knowledge, you can make better choices, live in alignment with your best self, and create a stronger sense of authority in your life in a fulfilling and powerful way.

A Closer Look: Human Design Types and Strategies

There are four different types of Human Design, and every person fits into one of the types. They are:

Generators

Generators make up about 70% of the population, and their main strategy is to respond. They have an open and enveloping aura, and their signature is satisfaction. When they are operating as their Not-Self, they may experience frustration. It is helpful for Generators to learn more about themselves so they can better understand how to use their energy.

Projectors

Projectors make up about 20% of the population. Their strategy is to wait for the invitation, which helps them find success and avoid bitterness. Their auras are focused and absorbing, and their goal is to learn about and understand others.

Manifestors

Manifestors make up about 9% of the population, and their strategy is to inform. They seek peace but may act from anger when they are operating as their Not-Self. They have a closed and repelling aura, and their goal is to understand their impact on others.

Reflectors

Reflectors make up just 1% of the population, and their strategy is to wait for an entire lunar cycle before making a decision. This helps them find clarity and surprise in life while avoiding disappointment. They tend to have a resistant and sampling aura, which allows them to learn to reflect rather than identify.

Understanding the Different Authority Types

The Human Design Generator also provides insight into different authority types. Authority types help people understand whether something is right for them. There are two main types.

Inner Authority

Many people think they make decisions with their minds, but that is rarely the case in Human Design. Inner Authority is shown in the chart in one of the following locations:

  • Solar Plexus
  • Sacral
  • Splenic
  • Ego and Self
  • Mental Projector and Reflector

By understanding these internal signatures, people can make better use of their energy and move toward greater success, peace, or surprise.

Outer Authority

Humans are social beings, and each person has a unique perspective on life that comes from the wisdom and insights they have gained through experience. Outer Authority provides a way to be of service to others by communicating at the right time and with the right intention.

Combined with definitions, profiles, incarnation cross, and other elements of the Human Design chart, authority provides powerful information for deeper self-understanding.
