Doctor of Chinese Energetic Medicine, Buddhist Lama, Christian Mystical Priest, Former Chairman of the Board of two regulated financial services companies in the US and Canada and Fortune 100 senior executive
I have 40 years of energy arts experience, including a Doctorate in Chinese Energetic Medicine and ordination as a Buddhist Lama and Christian Mystical Priest . My experience also includes Tai Chi, Reiki (Levels 1 and 2 certified), yoga and meditation. I have been passionate about teaching and applying Qi Gong to improve the wellbeing of my clients -- particularly those who otherwise could not afford access to the practice. In addition to my online classes, I teach qi gong at 4 homeless shelters in California and Colorado and the Women's Cancer Resource Center in Oakland, CA. I donate 100% of my fees to a homeless shelter, www.thefamilytree.org, in Denver, CO. I have been fortunate to have been trained directly for over 5 years by the father of Qi Gong in the West, Prof. Jerry Alan Johnson, who has published numerous textbooks on medical Qi Gong based on a lifetime of training with masters around the world. Our direct lineage dates back 1,800 years in the Mao-Shan Daoist Temple in China, bringing sophisticated and secret techniques which are rarely known even in China. Coming from a traditional legal and corporate background, I have been astounded by the unheralded power of this branch of Qi Gong to affect the physical and energetic body for the better. And I am excited that the US Veterans Administration, US National Institutes of Health, and other leading institutions in the US have begun to recognize formally the benefits of Qi Gong. I look forward to sharing my passion and expertise with my students and clients! Len

Paula Nelson
Certified Level III Tai Chi & Qigong Instructor
Welcome. I'm a retired U.S. Army officer and former newspaper editor who embarked on my journey into Tai Chi while still in active service. Although my initial interest was piqued during my military days, my pursuit of Tai Chi was temporarily sidelined by time constraints and professional responsibilities, only to be reignited once I retired. With more than 2,000 hours of teaching experience, I hold the esteemed title of Certified Level 3 instructor accredited by the ATCQA. Furthermore, I am currently undergoing training as a Holden Qigong Teacher-In-Training and have the privilege of serving as a Master Trainer under the guidance of Grand Master Dennis Kelly at Defy Aging, Inc. As a veteran, my commitment to Tai Chi and Qigong deepened in 2020 when I initiated my certification process with the American Tai Chi and Qigong Association (ATCQA). During this journey, I collaborated with like-minded volunteer instructors at the James A. Haley VA Hospital. Since 2022, I've been sharing my expertise in Tai Chi and Qigong through online instruction for Sofia Health, contributing to the well-being of a diverse audience. Don't miss the opportunity to explore these practices through Sofia Prime's remarkable subscription platform – it's truly a transformative experience.

Lake Oswego, OR

Lake Oswego is a city in the U.S. state of Oregon, primarily in Clackamas County, with small portions extending into neighboring Multnomah and Washington counties. Population in 2020 was 40,731, an 11.2% increase since 2010, making it the 11th most populous city in Oregon. Located about 7 miles (11 km) south of Portland and surrounding the 405-acre (164 ha) Oswego Lake, the town was founded in 1847 and incorporated as Oswego in 1910. The city was the hub of Oregon's brief iron industry in the late 19th century and is today a suburb of Portland.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 11.35 square miles (29.40 km2), of which 10.68 square miles (27.66 km2) are land and 0.67 square miles (1.74 km2) are covered by water. That area does not include more than 1,100 acres (4.5 km2) of unincorporated land within the urban services boundary as defined by Clackamas County. Oswego Lake is a lake, originally named Waluga (wild swan) by Clackamas Indians, which has been expanded is and currently managed by the Lake Oswego Corporation. The lake supports watercraft, and a dock floats at the lake's east end, where boaters can disembark and walk to the nearby businesses. The main canal from the Tualatin River was dug in 1872. Every three years, the water level in the lake is lowered several feet by opening the gates on the dam and allowing water to flow into Oswego Creek and onto the Willamette River, enabling lakefront property owners to conduct repairs on docks and boathouses. In 2010, the lake was lowered about 24 feet (7.3 m) to allow for the construction of a new sewer line, the lowest lake level since 1962, when the original sewer line was installed. The city extends up Mount Sylvania and through Lake Grove towards Tualatin.

The Clackamas people once occupied the land that later became Lake Oswego, but diseases transmitted by European explorers and traders killed most of the natives. Before the influx of non-native people via the Oregon Trail, the area between the Willamette River and Tualatin River had a scattering of early pioneer homesteads and farms.
