Menifee is a city in Riverside County, California, United States, and is part of the Inland Empire. Named after a local miner, Luther Menifee Wilson, it was settled in the 19th century, and established as an independent city in 2008. The city is centrally located in Southern California in the Menifee Valley. It is almost 15 miles (24 km) north of Temecula and just north of Murrieta.
