Welcome. I’m Chad Stiles, PhD, LMFT, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in helping couples understand and change the patterns that keep pulling them apart.
My work is especially focused on relationships affected by trauma, betrayal, loss of trust, recurring conflict, emotional shutdown, and disconnection. I take a practical, collaborative, and trauma-informed approach that integrates solution-focused therapy, family systems, and Internal Family Systems-informed parts work. Rather than deciding who is right or wrong, I help couples slow things down, understand what is happening underneath their reactions, and develop safer and more effective ways of communicating and reconnecting.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent 20 years in the military and another five years working for the federal government. I also bring more than 13 years of experience working with military sexual trauma survivors. Those experiences have shaped my understanding of how trauma, stress, responsibility, and experiences from our past can follow us into the relationships that matter most.
Outside of therapy, I have been married for more than 20 years and have two adult children. I am also a guitarist and, when I have the time, a World of Warcraft player. I believe therapy can involve serious work without feeling overly clinical or impersonal.
Whether you are looking for ongoing couples therapy or a more focused couples intensive, my goal is to provide a calm, structured space where both partners can feel heard, understand the cycle they have become caught in, and develop a clearer path toward trust, connection, and the relationship they want to build.
