Meet Your Coach Hello, my name is Benita Whitaker Cleveland. I am a retired high school counselor and Career & Technology Education (CTE) teacher. I have over 20 years of experience working with teens and pre-teens at my local church and in public education. I am passionate about the work …
I've worked with teens as a teacher in middle school, in high school, a high school librarian, and now as a life coach. The reason for my commitment to teens is simple - I really like them, and teens need fans. My passion for coaching comes from knowing that teens have too many people giving them advice and telling them what to do, and what they really need is someone to listen fully and without judgment while they find their way to the solutions and changes they can make to pursue their passions and goals. I am honored to be that person for the teens and young adults I coach.
I earned an MEd. in. Secondary English Education and am a Certified Life Coach for Young People through Youth Coaching Institute (YCI). I also write a monthly column on the School Library Journal's Teen Librarian Toolbox blog called RevolTeens about teens who make a difference in the world.
At home, I have raised three of my own teens, now 23, 19, and 17. I know that they have always needed an outside unbiased voice from teachers, therapists, or other trusted adults in addition to their parents' guidance to feel successful and grounded. One of the reasons that coaching works for teens is that they get to talk to someone who is not their mom. An outside, caring, and compassionate adult who works with them where they are now - with no history or baggage. It is a great honor and privilege to be that adult in a teen's life.
If your teen needs an outside voice to listen, connect, and guide them through solving problems, let's talk. I offer free consultations with parents (or young adults 18-24) to discuss what brings you to coaching and how coaching can help. You can find me at www.christinelively.com

Hi there! I'm Ronda Bonfanti and my coaching journey stemmed from my struggle with food and negative body image. In search of peace, I discovered Intuitive Eating and ended my lifelong battle with chronic dieting. Learning to value myself beyond a number on a scale set me on a path of discovery to seek greater understanding of what causes people to embrace different mindsets, pursue unhealthy versus healthy behaviors, and create happy, loving relationships.During my work as a coach, I find that many people have identified the thing in life that is stopping them from living their best life and they seek out help to get past that thing. For example, people want to quit smoking, they want to have a better relationship with food, they want to get out of an unhealthy relationship or quit a substance they have been abusing. In my work, I have loved helping people work through their “thing.” But what I’ve found over and over is that the thing is a byproduct of something much greater. It is unresolved hurt from a loss that drives us towards the thing that has become our vice and coping mechanism. When we work together to identify your unresolved grief, then we can solve the manifestations of that hurt as well. Much like the core muscles of the body stabilizing you for every movement you take physically, having a strong emotional core keeps you steady as you move through every stage of life. As a society, we recognize the need to strengthen our muscles. Yet we never stop to think about deliberately strengthening and centering our emotional core so that we can not only overcome things from our past, but also stay prepared to handle what life brings our way. My coaching is built on evidence-based practices which research shows will improve your well-being. Partnering with me as your coach offers recovery from past emotional losses, increased wellness habits, a non-diet approach to nutrition through Intuitive and Mindful Eating, reduced stress by incorporating mindfulness meditation, healthier relationships, and SMART goal setting to support life changes.

Red Hook Town, NY
Red Hook is a town in Dutchess County, New York, United States. The population was 9,953 at the time of the 2020 census, down from 11,319 in 2010. The name is supposedly derived from the red foliage on trees on a small strip of land on the Hudson River. The town contains two villages, Red Hook and Tivoli.
The original inhabitants of this land were the Mohican, Munsee, and Lenape people.[5][6] During European settlement, Native American tribes played a fundamental role in the area's economy as they traded beaver skin with European settlers. European settlers imported several foreign goods, such as cattle, horses, and sheep. Enslaved African American individuals were also brought. Through importing non-native species, the landscape and ecology of this region have been dramatically changed. European settler-colonial understandings of land ownership are different from the perspectives of Mohican, Munsee, and Lenape land use, a difference not often reflected in the land deeds that establish European presence on this land.
Before European settlement, the land surrounding the Mahicannituck, or the Hudson River, included “forested hills, meadows, and tributary streams”.This landscape of the river, as well as the surrounding land, was often portrayed in a romanticized, naturalized fashion to depict an American “wilderness” that was devoid of Indigenous presence to further narratives of European exploration of the Americas. This same landscape was described in small detail in Hendrick Aupaumut’s written account of the Native history of the Mohicans in 1791, showing that Native people enjoyed this same landscape before these settlers’ arrival.
Upon their arrival, settlers changed this landscape through the building of grist mills, sawmills, a carding machine, a trip hammer, and a distillery in 1797. Other more contemporary examples of the change in the geography of the town of Red Hook include the development of the Tivoli North Bay and Stony Creek watershed as well as the Tivoli South Bay and the Saw Kill watershed. European settlement did not always cause environmental change but it may or may not have altered the rate at which environmental change naturally occurs.
