Live Oak is a city in Bexar County, Texas, United States. The population was 15,781 at the 2020 census. It is part of the San Antonio Metropolitan Statistical Area.
According to the United States Census Bureau, Live Oak has a total area of 4.7 square miles (12 km2), of which, 4.7 square miles (12 km2) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.10 km2) of it (0.64%) is water.
As of the 2020 United States census, there were 15,781 people, 6,135 households, and 3,940 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,956.7 inhabitants per square mile (755.5/km2). There were 3,518 housing units at an average density of 751.8 per square mile (290.3/km2). Of the 6,135 households, 35.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.5% were married couples living together, 12.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.4% were non-families. 19.7% of households were one person and 4.3% were one person aged 65 or older.
