Professional Statement
I find the human body to be a marvel of divine creation and of highest intelligence equipped with an extraordinary capacity to heal. I find life to be a cocreational experience, that offers infinite opportunities and possibilities to manifest our desired destiny by the thoughts we think, the emotions we hold, and the actions we choose.
I find we are all healers, teachers, and students; and that life offers us practice in each of these areas at the right time and place in our journey.
I am a graduate in Occupational Therapy from the College of St Catherine class of 1990 with a variety of specialty interests including pediatrics. I have thirty plus years of experience working with diverse age, culture, gender identity, physical, mental, and emotional diagnosis in various medical settings.
I have promoted occupational therapy and published wellness articles for Valley Hospital newspaper in the Matanuska Susitna Valley of Alaska and have been proactive in clinical program development, staff education and mentoring. I was a Lead Occupational therapist on the Transitional Care Unit at The University of Minnesota for over 15 years. I am a Level 2 skilled iRest Yoga Nidra Meditation teacher, trained by Dr. Richard Miller and Stephanie Lopez.
My eclectic interests and study of medical and holistic modalities that heal the mind, body and spirit continue to refine my skills as a practitioner.
Although I greatly appreciate my medical background, diverse knowledge, and eclectic skills in a medical setting, I currently devote all my time to a holistic approach. In a medical setting the focus tends to be on the symptom, in a holistic approach we question what imbalance or associated imbalance has created the symptom. I believe true healing occurs when the imbalance that created the symptom is resolved.
I currently offer visualization, breathwork, body clearing, meditation, mindfulness training, therapeutic movement, iRest Yoga Nidra Meditation, iRest Co-Meditation Dyads, and general Consultations in a life coaching/trauma coaching capacity to assist with healing, personal refinement, and life progression.
I love what I do. I live what I teach.
