Mesquite is a city in the U.S. state of Texas, located in Dallas County with portions extending into Kaufman County. Mesquite is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington metroplex, in which one-quarter of all Texans live.

At the 2010 United States census, Mesquite had a population of 139,824. In July 2018, the population was estimated at 142,816. According to the 2020 United States census, there were 150,108 people, 46,586 households, and 34,641 families residing in the city.
