East Norriton, PA
East Norriton Township is a township and a census-designated place in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 13,590 at the 2010 census. It is served by the Norristown Area School District.
On March 9, 1909, Norriton Township was divided into East Norriton Township and West Norriton Township. The Barley Sheaf Inn and Old Norriton Presbyterian Church are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
East Norriton Township is located at 40°8′55″N 75°19′58″W (40.148744, -75.33291). According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 6.1 square miles (16 km2), of which 6.1 square miles (16 km2) is land and 0.16% is water. East Norriton was recognized by Business Week as one of the nation's top five Best Affordable Suburbs in 2009. East Norriton is a former farming community 8 miles (13 km) northwest of Philadelphia's city limits, consisting of residential, commercial, and industrial areas. Shopping malls close to East Norriton are the Plymouth Meeting Mall, which is the closest one at 4 miles (6.4 km) away, and the King of Prussia. The township is situated on the US 202 corridor, north of King of Prussia and Norristown. East Norriton has a little league program.

What is the history of East Norriton, PA?
East Norriton Township was included in one of the early manors (towns) created by Penn called Williamstadt. In 1689, he directed the surveyor general of the Province, "to lay out a tract of land on the canoeable (sic) part of the Schuylkill". This tract contained approximately 7,482 acres, all of present-day East Norriton and West Norriton Townships as well as the Municipality of Norristown. The tract was intended as a gift to William Penn's son, but five days after receiving the land, William Penn, Jr. sold it to two Philadelphia merchants, Isaac Norris and William Trent for the sum of 850 pounds sterling. Eight years later, Norris purchased Trent's five (5) holdings and gained ownership of the entire tract.
