Jackson County is located in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population of the county was 160,366 as of the 2020 Census. Its seat of government is the city of Jackson. The county was set off in 1829 and organized in 1832. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 51.22 square miles (132.66 km2), of which 48.54 square miles (125.72 km2) is land and 2.68 square miles (6.94 km2) (5.23%) is water.
