My mission is to create legacies and elevate humanity to an even more harmonious place by shepherding individuals and communities through trauma recovery. Healing from trauma is possible.
Trauma Recovery is a journey considering the contemplative practices of trauma sensitive yoga, trauma sensitive meditation, Transparent Communication developed by Thomas Huebl, and trauma recovery coaching. Trauma Recovery Coaching is highly effective because it is based on a new deeply grounded and practical understanding of collective trauma eruptions, a new understanding of how the past is being lived today with traumatic experiences not fully integrated, and how with integrating traumatic experiences the future is being co-created with innovation, inspiration, and creativity. An increased expansion of the capacity to understand and serve others with compassion.
Compassion is always energizing, never fatiguing. Unintegrated trauma experienced in the body is what feels exhausting and fatiguing, and leaves one feeling depleted. The help we think of as help is not helping.
As a trauma recovery coach, with forty years nursing experience, I help leaders to understand their wholeness and essence at a profound level, while fully integrating traumatic experiences, co-creating the future, as coherent leaders.
I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) and Certified Warriors at Ease (WAE) Teacher, teaching trauma sensitive yoga and meditation in Military Communities. While caring for Veterans at the end of life, in the We Honor Veterans (WHV) Program, I witnessed manifestations of undiagnosed Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). With a few weeks to days to live the traditional treatments of psychotherapy and medications were not feasible. I was curious about the benefits of yoga, specifically connecting breathing and movement.
This experience catapulted my journey into understanding PTSD and how yoga has been found to decrease the severity and frequency of symptoms of post traumatic stress. I am certified as a Thomas Huebl Practice Group Leader, leading the practice of Transparent Communication. I bring both of these practices into Trauma Recovery Coaching.
The new science and practices of trauma informed care and trauma sensitive interventions, are not working in our healthcare systems. They are not working in our education systems. We are trying to fit the new science and evidenced based practices into existing old boxes.
