Stroud Township is a township in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, United States. As of 2020, the township had an estimated population of 19,812.

DCBO climates are characterized by at least one month having an average mean temperature ≤ 32.0 °F (0.0 °C), four to seven months with an average mean temperature ≥ 50.0 °F (10.0 °C), all months with an average mean temperature < 72.0 °F (22.2 °C) and no significant precipitation difference between seasons. Although most summer days are slightly humid in Stroud Township, episodes of heat and high humidity can occur with heat index values > 100 °F (38 °C). How did Stroud, PA get its name?

Stroud Township was formed on January 22, 1817, and was named for Jacob Stroud, the founder of the Borough of Stroudsburg. It is believed that the first European settlers of the area were the Sly brothers. Along with his two brothers, Peter Sly had traveled south from Esopus, N.Y., in 1750. Peter settled in present-day Stroud Township while his brothers established their homesteads in modern-day Smithfield Township.
