How to Prepare for Your Reiki Session (For Cancer Patients)

Reiki can be a powerful complement to cancer treatment, offering emotional relief, relaxation, and support for the body’s natural healing process. Here’s how you can prepare for your Reiki session to ensure a comfortable and peaceful experience:

1. Set Your Intention
Before your session, take a moment to think about what you’d like to receive—whether it’s relief from pain, emotional support, or just a sense of relaxation. Sharing this intention with me can help focus the energy where it’s most needed.

2. Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water before your session. Staying hydrated helps energy flow more freely through your body and supports your body’s natural detox process.

3. Dress Comfortably
Wear loose, soft clothing that is easy to move in. You’ll be lying down during the session, so feeling physically at ease is important. If you have a scarf or blanket that brings you comfort, feel free to bring it along.

4. Eat Lightly
It’s best to have a light meal or snack at least an hour or two before your session. Eating a heavy meal right before may cause discomfort or make it harder to fully relax.

5. Arrive Calm and Unhurried
If your session is in-person, give yourself a few minutes to settle in before we begin. If it’s a Distance Reiki session, make sure you’re in a quiet space where you can fully relax. Take some time to breathe deeply and ease any tension in your body before we start.

6. Bring Any Comfort Items
If you have a favorite blanket, pillow, or comforting object, feel free to bring it along. Reiki is about comfort and healing, and these items may help you feel more secure.

7. Avoid Stimulants
It’s helpful to refrain from consuming caffeine, nicotine, or other stimulants prior to your session. A calm body and mind will support a deeper healing experience.

8. Relax and Trust the Process
Reiki is a gentle and supportive energy healing technique. You may experience deep relaxation, emotional release, or even a sense of warmth or tingling during the session. Trust that your body and spirit will receive exactly what they need in the moment.

9. Communicate Any Needs
