Welcome to the Mindfulness-Based Pain Relief (MBPR) Online Coaching Program, a transformative journey designed to empower individuals in effectively managing and alleviating chronic pain.
Mindfulness-Based Pain Relief (MBPR) Online Coaching Program is based on the work of Dr. Joe Tatta, Integrative Pain Science Institute. Dr. Joe Tatta is one of the pioneering experts in lifestyle interventions for treating persistent pain.
A unique combination of physical therapist, nutritionist, and ACT trainer, he has 25 years of experience in physical therapy, integrative models of pain care, leadership and private practice innovation. Hennie is a certified practitioner of the Mindfulness-Based Pain Relief Therapy trained by Dr Joe Tatta.
This program offers a unique and comprehensive approach to pain relief, grounded in mindfulness practices and lifestyle interventions.
Program Overview:
1. Foundation in Mindfulness: Dr. Joe Tatta's program is firmly rooted in the principles of mindfulness. Participants will be guided through the foundations of mindfulness practices, enabling them to cultivate a heightened awareness of their bodies, thoughts, and emotions, fostering a deeper connection to the present moment.
2. Lifestyle Interventions: Dr. Joe Tatta is renowned for his emphasis on lifestyle interventions as a key component of pain relief. Participants will explore evidence-based practices related to nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress management, providing a comprehensive toolkit for enhancing overall well-being.

In this 8-week online coaching program, you will have an opportunity to learn about the neuroscience of mindfulness in pain relief and practice mindfulness in a relaxed setting, to reduce pain, depression, and anxiety. We will be learning about how pain and emotions are made. Through different mindfulness practices, including body scan, emotion meditations, self-compassion, loving kindness meditation, gratitude practice, we become more resilient and capable of managing chronic pain and emotions. Being able to actively self-manage our pain and emotions, we will then live a more joyful and meaningful life.
’Mindfulness is not only a practice — it is a state of awareness, a behavioral trait, an intervention, an act of self-care, and a way of living that can dramatically shift the nervous system toward homeostasis, or a state of internal equilibrium. Reduced pain, depression, anxiety, and distress are some commonly observed benefits of mindfulness interventions.
Research shows even just a few minutes of practice has a substantial impact. Plus, exercises can be practiced anytime, anywhere. For these reasons, mindfulness-based pain relief can be easily adapted into a variety of pain care practices.” Dr Joe Tatta.
