Calming Hypervigilance — Feel Safe in Your Body Again

Appointment Length

0 hour 60 minutes

Service Description

Living in a constant state of alertness can feel exhausting. When your mind and body are always “on guard,” it’s hard to relax, sleep, or feel present in daily life. Hypervigilance often shows up after trauma, during periods of high stress, or when the nervous system doesn’t feel safe—even if you logically know you are not in danger. This service is designed to help you reconnect with a sense of safety, regulate your nervous system, and experience calm in both your body and mind.

Who this service is for
- Veterans, service members, and first responders navigating trauma, PTSD, or chronic stress
- Individuals who often feel on edge, restless, or “always on alert”
- People struggling with anxiety, panic attacks, or rapid heart rate when there is no real threat
- Anyone experiencing difficulty relaxing, falling asleep, or concentrating due to hypervigilance
- Those moving through life transitions, grief, or overwhelming stress who need nervous system support

Who will benefit
This service can be especially supportive if you:
- Experience racing thoughts, hypervigilance, or trouble “shutting off” your mind
- Struggle with irritability, sudden anger, or feeling unsafe in everyday situations
- Have physical symptoms like shallow breathing, jaw clenching, muscle tension, or a rapid heartbeat
- Feel disconnected from your body, emotions, or sense of peace
- Want to rebuild trust in yourself and your environment so you can feel safe, grounded, and balanced again

Benefits of this service
- Improved ability to relax and rest without feeling “on guard”
- Relief from physical tension, headaches, and tightness caused by chronic stress
- Better sleep quality and fewer middle-of-the-night wakeups
- Greater emotional regulation and fewer overwhelming mood swings
- Feeling grounded, centered, and more in control of your reactions
- Renewed confidence to move through daily life without constant vigilance

What to expect
During sessions, you’ll be guided through calming practices that help your body and brain feel safe again. We may use breathwork to slow racing thoughts, gentle yoga-based movement to release tension, or somatic techniques to reconnect you with your body. Self-regulation strategies such as guided relaxation, grounding exercises, and expressive practices may also be introduced. Each session is tailored to your pace and comfort level, focusing on what helps you feel secure, steady, and supported.

Why choose this service
What makes this service unique is the trauma-informed, whole-person approach. Rather than focusing only on thoughts or only on physical symptoms, the process integrates mind, body, and nervous system regulation. This is not about reliving trauma—it’s about creating safety in the present moment. The goal is to give you tools you can use anywhere, anytime, to shift from hyper-alertness into calm awareness.

Begin your path to safety and calm
If you’ve been feeling stuck in a cycle of hypervigilance, know that you don’t have to live this way forever.
