Pregnancy After Trauma
Appointment Length1 hour 30 minutes
Service DescriptionTrauma - medical trauma, sexual assault, emotional trauma, the death of a loved one - is something we are beginning to talk more about in society. Many will experience it before they give birth. While birthing individuals often seek to connect with their pregnancy, birth and postpartum period, many of these traumas (big and small) can make it difficult to connect well, and can even lead to triggering during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period. So what can be done? With additional training through 'When Survivors Give Birth', Heather brings more than a decade of trauma-informed practice to her work as a high risk doula and coach, to helping you create grounding practices during pregnancy, clear and intentional plans for the birth you have (not just the birth you hope you'll have) and practical strategies for addressing triggers during the postpartum period.
